My Interview Story.....

My story...

I qualified as a CA in January 2013(Nov 2012 attempt).

I appeared for interview in a government sector company in noida...for the post of Assistant Manager (Finance) which required commerce graduate/post graduates/mba (finance)/CAs.

There were 50 candidates shortlisted for interview.Out of which 10 were again shortlisted for second round of interview(i was also among these ten).

Interviewers were 5 IAS officers & in those 10 shortlisted candidates only 3 were CAs (I was also one of them with first division B.Com degree).

Vacancy was only for 2 posts (1 for ChhindwaraM.P. ,my home town & the other one was for Jaipur). I was the only CA from Chhindwara. The other 2 CAs were from Jaipur.

I was the only female in those ten.

My interview was excellent .I was quite sure that I will get this job as I answered everything perfectly & I ,being a CA, was very much confident.

But who got the job ,in my home town ,is an MBA(Finance) from Nagpur.I too did my CA from Nagpur.

While interviewing they told me that CTC would be around 300000/- p.a. & I agreed with them.

And you will be shocked to know that the guy selected joined that undertaking at Rs. 40000/- p.m. I am really very much disappointed.....

Still I am preparing for Banking/PSUs examinations...& i am practicing as a CA in my home town.

Lets see where the destiny takes me to....indecision

Many freshly qualified ca’s (me also) are facing same kind of disappointments. All we can do is to work more harder and harder.

Dedication and Determination are for those who follow a systematic approach to reach Goals, who loves to swim against the current, think differently, observe deeply, learn about the hidden, evolve, innovate, visualize the unseen.

Hi,

I guess you were over qualified for that post & you agreed for working at lower salary. This is the main reason behind your non selection according to me.

It is necessary for candidates to know qualification of Reporting Manager, if candidate is more qualified then him/her, chances are lesser for getting selected!!

Also in India i have seen trend like female candidates doesnt get priority over male candidate, that is nothing but discrimination. What i have experienced is female worker are more quick in completed there task & more focused on work. Matters coming in between their career is our society where they are asked to manage their Home & Ofiice both if they chose to work.

Best Luck!!

Hi,

Surely you will get reward for your efforts.........

CA. Nuba Subzwari : stick to practise ...what i mean is invest in practise

I am a senior banker. And we have role in credit appraisal. I have in my team a few CAs. All have different IQs. One CA immediately grasp the requirement in one or two sittings, another one raise quarries after queries. CA is qualification not a guarantee pay-slip. As CA understanding of material is important.

Dear Sir (Mr. T V Raao)

I have done Industrial Training of 1 year in CREDIT APPRAISAL team of a Bank. I cleared CA Final in July 2013 in First Attempt & have outstanding academic record.

If there is any opportunity in your bank then please let me know on my number 09867599390.

It would be great help.

Thanks & Regards,

Chayan

You won't enjoy success if you don't experience failure.

@ Vaibhav - I cannot agree on the point that there is discrimination. There are many companies who prefer to have a female employee over male, and then we do not remind ourselves of "discrimination" !!! Companies must decide on the candidate on the basis of qualification and experience and not on gender.

@ mihir you may not agree, i have shared what i have experienced.

Thanks for feedback!

How is your communications skills...I  mean do you speak fluent English....???

Hi everybodyy as I have read all comments here nd I just wanna say u one thing that don't compare u with the person who got the job because in many psu's "JUGAAD/SOURCE" mattrs may in ur case also same thing happens. So just be calm down bcz u r a ca. Nd our results come in single digits. May b god will b planning sumthing more than wat u deserve. So nvr complain nd hope for best.
Best of luck for future...

Yes.... there is Discrimination between female and male candidates ....I have seen cases where for the same designation a female candidate was offered 420000(p.a) and a male Candidate was offered 600000(p.a)......This happened back in 2011 with one of my female friends.

but now she is quiet settled with a 650000( p.a) package. What i am trying to convey is that don't loose hope , better time will come .

It is true that competing with large numbers is a reality.Do not expect being a CA degree you will get job easily in the market. We know in India, Influence also plays a role. Before choosing the career it is better to count numbers for the course and the future impact. If you have skill and expertise, no doubt you will succeed in Service/Practice.

Fine inspirational Story....... :)

Nice to read about.....Women's success in the path of CA....
