I have a dealer who want to get register with MVAT Act. Its a PArtnership
Firm. My query is whether it is necessary to attend the Sales Tax Office by any of the partner or they can pass power of attorney to authorise any other person?

As per Section 82 of MVAT Act, 2002, they can pass a Power of Attorney to authorize any person who is a Legal Practitioner, Chartered Accountant holding a Certificate of practice, Cost Accountant or a Sales Tax Practitioner by filing Form 709.
