Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether photography businesses are eligible for the MSME Scheme. The MSMED Act 2006 covers both manufacturing and service sectors. If your business solely provides photography services, it falls under the service category and is eligible for registration. Additionally, if you are involved in manufacturing photographic raw film and paper, this is also considered an eligible manufacturing activity.

As per my understanding the benefit of the scheme only to manufacturing and service sector.

For further information you need to go through the msme Act, 2006 and other relevant provision.

Now the question arise whether photography is covered under msme or not.

MSMED Act, 2006 does not define the terms "Manufacture" or "Services". But when we see the definition of "Enterprise", it covers any enterprise which is engaged in manufacturing or production of any goods pertaining to any industry specified in first schedule to the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951 or engaged in providing or rendering any services.

Now, in your case, if you are providing only Photography Services, it will be covered under Service Category and you can register yourself.

But if you are engaged in industry activities (Sr. 20 of first schedule of IDRA, 1951) of Photographic Raw Film and Paper including Cinema Film, Photographic Ameteur Film or Photographic printing paper, then also you are doing manufacturing activity and eligible for register.
