Grievance I would like to inform you that atleast 8 out of every 10 Practicing Chartered Accountants are not adhering to Regultion 60 of CA Regulations, 1988 (working hours of Article Trainees). I also find it very strange that the institute is not aware of the working hours of Article Trainees in Big 4 Firms - Delloitte, PWC, KPMG and E&Y and in other big firms and not taking any steps in this regard. The working hours in these firms of Article Trainees generally go well beyond 45 hours per week excluding lunch break. And in the months of May, June, July and August, the working hours of Article Trainee crosses 60 hours (excluding lunch break) in a week. I think since 32 out of the 40 members of the council of the institute are also Chartered Accountants, the institute is not at all considering about the problems being faced by the Article Trainees due to streesful working hours in their Articleship. I agree that Articleship is a very important part of Chartered Accountancy. But we have to spend lots of time preparing for the exams as well because it is only when a student clears the exams, he/she will become a Chartered Accountant even if he has an excellent pratical knowledge.

Hence I request you to take immediate action in this regard to ensure that each and every CA firm in India strictly adheres to Regulation 60 of CA Regulations,1988.

Yeah.. so? Did they mention how long the process will take? Do you seriously think it is possible for ICAI to keep a check on each and every firm?

Ye bhi ho jayega jab corruption khatam ho jayega. . . . . . .
THAT TYPE OF PROCESS WHICH IS ALREADY DONE IN STIPEND ISSUE???????/
ANYWAYS HOPE FOR THE BEST

ICAI is least bothered about it. No wonder they themselves are exploiting Articles by not revising the stipend amounts.

Since the board consists of practising CAs things like stipend, working hours are not all bothered about to them.

Moreover they are bothered about exam leaves, overtimes etc.,

yes this is absolutely correct.............

though the institute have issued notification on that some months ago. But it is not monitoring wheather any firm is  following that or not.........
and also it is the biggest reason of increase in dummy articleship. Even when there is no work or lack of work in the offc articles have to sit in the offc atleast 8-9 hours which is quite strange.
This show how much istitute is care about its students..

But wait & hope 4 the best............. the only thing a article can do.:/

Hello Sir,
I am Amitoj Singh Arora, PCC Student.
my training has started from 10.09.2008 and due to some problem with my CA, i left my office on 14.07.2010 with form 109 signed form him. But as i came to know about the condition of prior approval for termination, my Form 109. sent to institute become invalid and i havent received any letter from institute regarding that. And till now due to certain problems i am unable to send any letter for permission of termination of articleship to institute.i m unable to find a valid n justifiable ground under sec 56(1) under which i can seek permission neither i can join back my current CA due to certain reasons.

1) I js want to know what will be the circumstances if i seek prior approval from institute for termination with effect form 14-07-2010. Will institute take any action on noticing the my absence from Office for approx last one year.....?

2) what remedies i have now to get termination ? just worried about that one year gap?
Thanks in anticipation of your early reply.
Regards,
Amitoj
