Sir,
Sub.: Request to Consider the Mistake crept in Question Papers in May 2010 (CA Final Examination – New Course)
I, Mukesh Roongta, appeared in CA Final Exam. – New Course. Respected Sir, I would like to attract your kind attention to the following crucial facts.
1: Mistake crept in Paper -1 : Financial Reporting
There was an Important Announcement for May – 2010 Examination – CA Final (New) and (Old) on Accounting Standards – AS-30, 31 & 32 dated 29/04/2010, made on ICAI’s website. A Copy of the same is annexed herewith for Your Ready Reference. As per that Announcement, students were advised to conversant with concept like type of assets, definition etc. Students were not required be thorough with the application part of the standard for May 2010 Examination.
We would like to attract your kind attention to the fact that there was a question (Q. No. 2 (b) – 12 Marks) in the paper which was based on AS 30. A Student who is not thorough with the application part of the standard, can not answer that question.
2: Mistake crept in Paper - 4 : Corporate & Allied Laws
There was an Announcement for May – 2010 Examination – CA Final (New) and (Old) on Applicability of relevant corporate laws on ICAI’s Website dated 19/03/2010. A Copy of the same is annexed herewith for Your Ready Reference. As per the Announcement, SEBI (Disclosure and Investor Protection) Guidelines, 2000 & SEBI (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulation, 2009 were not applicable for May 2010 CA Final Examination.
However, ICAI has asked a Question (i.e. Q. No. 8 – 6 Marks).
Further, in same announcement as stated above, Companies (Second amendment) act, 2002 [relating to winding up] was made not applicable for May 2010 : CA Final Examination (Old & New Course) and Students were advised to study the General Provisions relating to winding up as given in the study material.
But a question (i.e. Q. No 5 (b) - 5 Marks) relating to winding up was asked in Question Paper. This part is not covered in General Provisions given in study material.
Copies of Both the Question Papers are also annexed for your reference.
I request your honour to be kind enough to look in to the matter and oblige by granting relief in the above mentioned papers. I hope that my appeal to your honour will get due Consideration.
Thanks & Regards,
MUKESH ROONGTA
