Final 14230 views 9 replies

Hi frns, this is spandana.

i have  my CA Final attempt due in November-2011.

i was granted leave only from today.

so i was a bit confused whether i can crack the exam successfully in november.

i am yet to take coaching for DT and ISCA.

though i completed coaching for remaining 6 subjects, my preparation level was almost nill till now.i only have little knowledge regarding the remaining 6 subjects.

i just attended classes........didn prepare simultaneously.so am fully confused whether to give both the groups or single group in november.i think that doing both the groups in a span of 3 n half months is highly impossible.

please any one guide me regarding this matter.whether to give both and be in a confusion or study for single group in depth and go for the second one in may-2012.

please tell what is the minimum time required for CA Final preparation.

Also tell me what may be the disadvantages of not passing CA Final in first attempt?

Please check your past perfomance and confidance level and capacity to learn.

Confidance and capacity to learn are the main factor behind the sucesses and these are, very on case to case. One can get the complete lession in one time learning and another required lots of time to get the same lession.

Hi spandhana,

Its better to take one group because CA final need expert knowledge.. Me too last year completed my articles at and around this time i also couldnt read anything during my articles because of over work. But i was advised to take both groups. I thought i can clear it as i had cleared my pcc in first attempt in 2 months reading without coaching ..but ultimately i failed in both grps.. So final level u need great preparation.. Take first group and clear all the best for your exams...Attempt doesnt matter much.. your work your knowledge matters in the interview..

Hmm, just give ur 100% n honestly give not less than 15 hour a day then in my openion 3 month is enough time, i hv done same in may attempt that was my pre attempt. Regards best of luck

JUST BE CONFIDENT AND GO AHEAD.

PLAN SUBJECT-WISE,MONTH-WISE,DAY-WISE,HOUR-WISE..

STICK TO PLAN.... DONT COMPROMISE..

REVISION & GOOD NOTES ARE MUST. REFER CCI AS GUIDE BUT PREPARE ON UR OWN

BEST OF LUCK

my advice would be as follows.

Dont take much time in doing your first reading.

Nov 2011 is going to be very easy for some reason.

Give both groups.

As far as preparation is concerned, i can advice you on it.

For which books is to be reffered to - already in ca club its mentioned by me.

Remember 6 hrs for 1 subject and for the second its 6 hours  and always 2 subjects a day.

For law - 10 days flat finish munish bhandari

ISCA - read daily for 17 days ( 2nd reading for all chapters).   ISCA first reading of all chapters finish in 8 days.   in ISCA , only Chapters 4-10 if done its enough.

Costing, acounts, fm - do practice manual fully thats enough ( each of them takes 10 days)

For audit - finish Surbhi Bansal only for reading SAs ( flat 3 days just plain read) and all the other chapters do practice manual. ( 8 days)

OR - must be complete in 3 days.

IDT - finsih it within 15 days. ( Case laws first, amendements and then Service Tax, then Excise concentrate more on valuation , basics and sums) Excise full imp but last chapter se only do SSI.

Customs - just dont touch baggae, seizure etc. Do customs only from bangar ( first 4 chapters).

In IDT , valuation is more important.

DT - just do practice manual - 12 days.

This time period i have set considering your leave starts only from July and that shows

So even within 90 days you can be well prepared and even get rank or get pass by 400 marks for sure. all this can happen by self study in a library or home (not group) even if u begin now.

THANK U NARAYANAN. THAT IS A GOOD PLAN U HAV GIVEN. EVEN I AM APPEARING IN THIS NOV 2011 FINAL EXAMS.

"Nov 2011 is going to be very easy for some reason."

MAY I KNOW THE REASON PLZ.

I believe you need to spend at least a period of six months to prepare for your examination and secondly during this short period of six months, if you want to clear it with ease, you are required to plan your studies in such a manner that you can achieve a one-time revision of both the groups of eight subjects.

Six months are solid enough for CA finals provided you've studied the whole syllabus once in tuition. The coverage is so extensive that it is not probable to cover the entire syllabus in anything less. The odds of clearing are remarkably less and it's going to be onerous any way. If you are just inaugurating fresh with your studies, then it will be unmanageable to clear the exam in such a short span of time. To put it short, the earlier you start the better it is for you.

Spend a day in designing your schedule and make a study plan which will work for you based on your own evaluation of your pros and cons. In this span of six months make sure you do the following- read the study materials provided by the institute, revise coaching notes, solve past question papers, and last but not the least perform as many mock tests as possible. Try a mock test series like PREPCA which provides detailed analysis and even counselling for students to ensure they clear in the first attempt itself. I was also able to clear my CA final because of PREPCA test series.

In order to clear the exam with around 60%, you need to complete the entire syllabus 2 months preceding the examination and give the rest of the time for the revision. For accomplishing rank, you have to study at least 12-14 hours consistently for 6 months before the exam, provided that you work hard with all your commitment and flexibility.

Hope this helps
