In private company min no. is 2 & in public it is 7

minimum 2 in private
minimum 3 in public company
and maximum 15 director in any company
if u have to increase the limit then pass special resolution

Agree with Tejas min no. in public co. reduced to 3...
Max no. 50 in private & unlimited in public co.

Yes its correct as per Companies Act max. no is 15.

Actually I misinterpreted the question. Instead of director i gave no. of members.

in case of OPC, Pvt co., public co, MIN- 1, 2, 3 respectively. MAX- 15 each co. if co. wants beyond 15 ,the company has to pass special resolution in GM.No CG permission required.

Min :Pvt co-2 and pub.co.3 Max: 15 in both. if co wants beyond 15 Special resolution in General meeting.No central government permission required.

For pvt. companies- 2-15 For public companies-3-15 Companies may by passing special resolution increase the limit beyond 15 director. It should be remembered that maximum limit are not applicable in government companies

private company - minimum 2 public company - minimum 3 maximum in both - 15 but company may extend the limit after passing special resolution(maximum limit)
