Note : You shud save both the BAT (batch)file outside the folder which you want to hide. Please make sure that the folder which u wish to hide is correctly spelled in the BAT (batch) files..
I have created a new folder in my E drive with the name 'dark' as given by you and followed the instructions given by you in windows XP original but still its not working. The file loc.bat is a notepad file and remain same even after opening and closing

can you please tell us the meaning of this extension please? .{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} what will happen if we change any value/number of the above?
@ kamaraj add .{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} to extension of any folder makes it Control Panel folder The Control Panel's key is called [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}] and the ID is the last set of number after CLSID, in this case '{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} In addition to the Control Panel you can also add: Printers.{2227A280-3AEA-1069-A2DE-08002B30309D} History.{FF393560-C2A7-11CF-bff4-444553540000} DUN.{992CFFA0-F557-101A-88EC-00DD010CCC48} to the start menu. Be sure to include the " . " suraj
