Members and shareholders are same or different?

Both are entitled to vote in the meetings. however,
member is a person whose name must appear in the register of member whereas this is not mandatory in the case of shareholder. when his name removes from the register, he remain shareholder only and not member.
e.g.
when a shareholder converts his/her/it's shares into stock, name must removed from register of members whereas he continues to be the shareholder of the company.
