Medical Reimbursement is the part of salary of the employees.

* If you are giving in the salary in had including medical reimbursement, then employees can take benefit u/s 80D.

* Most reliable to reimbuse the medical expenses, pay them in cash after verifying bills provided by them, .. not thru salary in hand.

Medical expenses to stadd must be debited in the P&L account.

Thank you, is there any restriction on the number of times an employee can claim his medical expenses in a year? what is the maximum allowable amount? also please tell me if the medical expenses of dependents can also be claimed? please help

Maximum of p.a. 15000 INR is exempt as per Income Tax Purposes.

If medical reimbursement is above 15000 p.a., then amount exceeding Rs. 15000 is taxable as part of salary.

Yes, Employee can also claim medical expenses for parents , wife, children and dependent brothers , sisters and other dependents as per Income tax act
