If an assessee pays Rs. 800000/- for medical expenses on her spouse's measure surgery, and unfortunately, spouse dies,
Then can he deduct the same from his Gross Total Income for tax reduction?

Yes he can subject to sec 80C and all.
Refer section 80DD and 80DDB. The deduction is for specified diseases only.
