All friends , As per section 36(1)(ib) if the employer has paid premium for medi claim policy taken in the name of employee or his family, such premium is allowed to be debited to his P&L but payment should not be made in cash.

Ques-Is he claim deduction u/s 80D also for medi claim policy if policy taken by him in the name of his child or spouse or dependent brother or sister or parents.

Deduction u/s 80D allowable if premium paid for his family or his parents and family is defined as spouse & dependent children of the assessee. So deduction will be allowable u/s 80D to the employee if he pays premium for his dependent child or spouse or parents but not dependent brother or sister
