Yes...
This is just remainder for linking PAN with AADHAAR.
Don't be get confusion....

It is a scam by IT deptt. I was not going to file my ITR or link my Aadhar to PAN, but because of this message I got confused that they might have received some information about credit in my bank account, and I went there to check my 26AS. Anyways.. I ended up linking my Aadhar number to my PAN, nothing in my 26 AS, :/

Alright.. above was a bad joke. I have done the "linking Aadhar" thing long ago. No need to worry. It is just a information message.

Your sincerely... :D

Me also got this email

Dear Taxpayer,

Greetings from Income-Tax Department!

It is seen from our record that you are yet to file your Income Tax Returns for AY 2017-18.

Therefore, it is advised that you may ascertain your tax liability and file your Income Tax Return (ITR) by due date. If your tax return is not subject to any tax audit, the due date for filing of your Income Tax Return is 31st July, 2017.

Please also link your PAN with Aadhaar on the e-filing website. If your mobile is linked with Aadhaar, then you can e-verify your ITR using Aadhaar OTP. E-verification is easy and is also possible through netbanking, Bank account validation, Bank ATM or Demat account validation. No need to send ITR-V to CPC Bangalore if you e-verify.

In case you require any assistance in knowing about due dates of filing, ITR Form Number or procedure for filing of Income Tax Return, please visit www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in or call on 1800 4250 0025.

Regards,

The message as opined, is a reminder for linking PAN with the Aadhar.  However, it also a message to inform that the 26AS got to be seen,  particulars verified and taken into account before filing the Income Tax Return.  As many of the assessess have tendency to file the ITR with available particulars, it is a caution to verify all the taxable income and tax deducted at source from 26AS and to file the return accordingly.

Your 26AS Statement for FY16-17 shows income receipts without TDS. Please ascertain your tax liability & file IT Return in time (by 31 July 2017, if not auditable)

If income < 2.5 lacs, tax liability = 0.

Can this message be ignored? Is there a need to file ITR if tax liability is NIL?
