March 2018 tds

Hi,

The due date for TDS deducted for the month of March 2018 is 30th April 2018. We have done the TDS payment on 30th April 2018 morning. However as 30th April 2018 and 1st May 2018 was a bank holiday, the challan that was generated when payment was made (i.e. on 30th April, 2018) reflected the tender date as 2nd May, 2018.

Now because of this, we see an interest on late payment levied. However, we have made the payment in time. How do we resolve the issue with the traces?

You can put a resolution from your traces account stating the following matter and wait for their response or call up traces help desk.
Yes... I agreed to Our Expert Miss Mansi Bhojani's view...

I think you don't want pay any Interest for the TDS payments. As per Your regard you paid the amount on or before due date also online mode...

So, Interest not applicable. Payment credited is not a matter if it's in next day or month...

No need to worry and Wait on further reply from NSDL...

just a correction, the value date of your transaction is of May only. So do not expect any instant relief here. The bank holidays are advertised in advance and one is supposed to take note of it.

April 30, 2018 was not a bank holiday in Bangalore. Moreover, as per our bank statement, the amount has been debited on 30th April, 2018 itself.
