Suggest me some good reference books for Stage III- Subject -Management Accounting Strategic Management(strictly according to the CWA Syllabus).
The study material for the above is so short and full of grammatical mistakes and errors that a continuous reading is really boring, since first we have to correct the sentence constructions. The presentation of the topics is also not of professional standards. I really do not get the reason why the ICAI(Cost)Board of studies are not looking into the quality of presentation of topics in the study material. Even books made by IGNOU and other distant education universities are presented more descripttively and with fewer errors. Even the other subjects like capital market and analysis- the presentation is really bad and not professionaly presented. CWA has to follow the steps of CA Institute which has really made a great effort to lift the standards of study materials along with the well organized practice materials such that once a reading and practice is made the student feels satisfied. The Board of studies for Chartered Accountants are constantly looking to present the study material in a better manner and are striving for quality by appointing various core committee for looking into the presentation of study material. I just hope that CWA also does the same as this is the only area where we are lacking. Better infrastructure has to built in for the development and betterment of the students and as cosequence of the profession. Rest of the area like exams and opportunities are at par with other professional courses.
In CWA indirect tax material the chapters are short and basic. It is only a direct copy of the intermediate study material with actually no difference in presentation. There is no reference to the point of taxation rules etc in the latest edition. No good numerical problems. However since standard books are available in the market, there is not much problem to complete the study. But what about students who depend on study materials. At least the prescribed syllabus has to be covered in detail.
