Does 3yrs is only the criteria to determine whether it is long term capital gain or not??

In case of listed securities and equity oriented mutual fund, holding period to determine long term capital gain is of 12 months or more
Gain arrising from depreciable asset will always be short term capital gain irrespective of holding period
