what was the limit to get registered for sevice business under VAT?

VAT is applicable only on purchase and sale Goods not on services . So your query is not clear please elaborate in detail.

At present Service Tax Act 1994 is also not applicable, If you are providing services then you have to take GST registration only . Limit under GST for service provider is 20 Lac , however in certain cases registration is compulsory .
