I THINK YOU MUST BE APPEAR FOR ALL GROUP BCOZ BENIFIT OF SET OFF IS MUCH USEFUL IN THIS.

SELF STUDY IS BETTER STUDY.

IT HELPS U TO KNOW UR CAPABILITY.

NO NEED TO GO FOR COACHING.

BETTER TIME MANAGEMENT HELP U TO PASS ALL GROUP AT SINGLE SHOT.

PRACTICLE KNOWLEDGE IS VERY USEFUL IN EXAMS.

Thanks very much Amit for ur reply..... but can u tell me how much time is required to cover all 4 grps with revision considering the fact i will be also engaged in training ?

AS FAR AS LEVEL IS CONCERN. GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF LAW &  PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED.

TAX, DRAFTING & FOREX MAGT. IS SCORING ( FROM MY POINT OF VIEW)

I AM APPEAR FOR 3RD GROUP IN JUNE 2011

DUE TO SOME PROBLEM NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO  APPEARING ALL GROUP AT SINGLE ATTEMPT.

BUT YOU APPEAR FOR ALL GROUP.

BEST OF LUCK IN ADVANCE

MANY OF MY FRIENDS CLEAR ALL GROUP AT SINGLE ATTEMPT BY STUDING 2 MONTHS BUT REGULARLY.

I THINK U HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO PREPAR BETTER TO START THEORY SUBJECT NOW WHICH U FIND HARD.

IT WILL REDUCE UR STRESS AT EXAMS TIME.

Yes self study is sufficient...I am also appearing for CS Prof in coming June 11. Juts go through study mat. Buy book for Tax Subject and follow guideline answers.

Apart from this i will suggest CS Prof Solution of Lawpoint Publication (still under publication will be out in stores in a week). It contains solution of last 15 years question chapterwise. I followed this in executive stage. They are publishing this for professional stage for first time.

Thanks Amit and sanjay sir for ur guidance

but how to study for module 2......... whether modules supplied will be sufficient or any other reference book is also required ?

and pls tell me which ref. books to follow in addition to module and in which subjects ?

Study MAT will be enough...

For Advance Tax Laws & Practice Module III-----

Indirect Tax----Bangar

Direct Tax-Girish Ahuja & Ravi Gupta/V.K.Singhania

Also find attact the file of Syallabus...

Agreed with sanjay sir, for cwa and cs self study will be best..

Best of luck for your exams....

Hi Simranjeet,

In my view self study is sufficient and modules framed by institute are very good and best. Reading moudules thoroughly will be more than sufficient efforts. For recent case laws you can refer to students bulletien. As you are pursuing CA, subjects like Direct & Indirect Tax and FM can be easily scored. Plz keep regular reading of theory subject to avoid last hour rush and good scoring...

Best of Luck...

Yes Simranjeet,

Self study is sufficient and most important as well...

Futher, the most important thing is to clear the concept whether you clear from forums or coachings or friends or anywhere...

Secondly, all groups may be given at a time and it will helpful as well....

Further, if you want to give 2-2 groups, you can choose 1-3 and 2-4.....

The most of the students focus on passing  than learning.

.

In professional exams; all subjects are important to make a bright career.

.

Although self study is sufficient to qualify the CS exams; but I advise you know to know the practical aspects of the subjects also with the help of some guide.  This will help you to make a very bright career.

.

For example; the student who scores 60 plus marks in Taxation with the help of attempting some practical questions ; still  fear is there that if he does some blunders while applying his half knowledge about the subject; the cost to the company may turn down to lacs / crores of rupees in the form of more taxes and penalties.

.

So students should not be happy when they score high marks. They should be happy only when they have confidence in applying the respective laws.

.

The more you know about the importance of the subject; more you will enjoy studying  the subject.

.

In addition to the study materials; if you think that the subject is not fully covered and/or more material is easily available; reference should be made to such material and/or books. This will help you to make your presentation better  than other students which ultimately leads to  score  high marks and it also  boosts your confidence  in the subject while facing interview before your prospective employer when you qualify.

.

One more thing; due to lack of practical application of the subjects; more and more qualified members are interested to go for job.  If someone thinks it is better to go for job; then really it is better for companies also that professionals are ready to sell their skills.

.

To climb on a hill by the order of someone is different than to climb on a hill with  your own will.

.

To qualify in the exams :

.

1.  First of all; plan to appear for all the papers.

.

2. See out of 8 subjects in which you have more interest.

3.  Focus on scoring more at least in three subjects :

The plan of scoring may be as under :

     3 subjects    :   70     =   210

     5 subjects    :   50     =   250    Total    460

.

In  the above target; even if you do bad in 4-5 papers and score only 40 in individual papers; still you will pass the exams certainly with enough margin left.

.

4. More than 70% students fail in professional examination due to aggregate missing.

.

5. Even if you don't pass; at least 3 subjects should be there in the list of exemptions so that at least feel good factor  remains for next study plan.

.

6. Never discuss your plan with others.

.

7. Plan you studies for at least 6 hours per day without fail.

.

PS :

.

You can give more weightage to some topics which have been frequently asked in the past CS exams although for practical point of view; I don't suggest for  this.

.

Thanks very much jaideep sir , Ankur sir and Surendra sir for the guidance...

@ surendra sir Thanks very much sir for providing me with detailed analysis...

you have mentioned all valid and relevant things as usual........ the most important observation being most of the students focus on passing  than learning........... i too focussed on the same thing but now having being understood the importance of practical knowledge one need to possess in professional courses i want to clear CS with sound and confident practical knowledge in hand.......

Thats why i am confused whether to join CS 15 month training now along with preparing 4 grps or 2 grps of PP stage or first i should concenterate on clearing all 4 grps along with sound practical knowledge as well as the same will not be possible practically if i choose to start training along with it due to lack of time available then....

I had entered into CS inter via graduation and it helped me a lot especially in practical papers and company law paper as i had studied them in grad... but in final stage the story is different.

moreover most of the subjects in final stage like FM , SM , Advance tax laws are new to me and i had never studied them before due to which may be i will be required to have some guidance for them and if by chance i will be able to clear those by going through imp topics , scanners , guidelines ans etc then i will be only getting marks and not the real knowledge as u mentioned resulting into lack of confidence in applying the knowledge gained...

so pls advice me sir whether i should join CS 15 mth training now along with preparing 4 grps or 2 grps or first i will concenterate on clearing these 4 grps with sound conceptual clarity and practical knowledge ?

i raised this issue before Ankur garg sir also and he advised to focus on clearing all 4 grps only first and to start training next year

whats ur view sir ? pls advice...........

Dear Simran,

.

It is the beauty of the Commerce Profession that it gives various alternatives to you during your professional course.

.

You can choose whatever PATH ( read it in Hindi - the meaning is the same ) is most suitable to you.

.

Because every student has different circumstances and choices before him.

.

So there  is no hard and fast rule what to choose first.

.

Ultimately you have to apply your mind which one to choose first.

.

I can give only the possible outcomes of the decision once you choose :

First Alternative : .When you plan to pass first and join training later on.

.

Plus  :

.

You can focus fully on your training. If the firm is too good; a lot of practical knowledge may help you to establish your own profession in future.

.

Minus :

.

If by any chance or bad luck; you don't clear your exams; then you find yourself in a very miserable position. Neither you would clear the exam  nor the training is completed. Hence after two-three attempts; you may find yourself very disappointed.

.

In this situation; you will dislike to study the same material again and again.

(1. When you feel boring while studying; believe me this is also one of the reason of your failure in the professional exams

 2. When you say that I have to read the same material again and again; it means your strategy of studying professional course is wrong which is producing the same result again and again).

.

Second Alternative : .When you take training first and pass exams later on.

.

Plus  :

.

You can relax with clear mind set that you will appear only after your training.

.

Minus :

When you join training before passing;  you may not have that depth of practical training which is actually required. In most of the cases; it is pure time pass.

.

Because general commerece students have habit to study only on exam days/leaves.

.

If you can continue your studies without any tension than you can enjoy both :

The training as well as Study with Learning.

Surprisingly; such students pass earlier than who focus only on one :

study  only or training only.

.

If by any chance or bad luck; you don't clear your exams; then you find yourself in a very miserable position. Neither you would clear the exam  nor the training is completed. Hence after two-three attempts; you may find yourself very disappointed.

.

Note :

.

Join only that practising firm where at least 3-4 students are in training. Otherwise you will do clerical work only during your training.

.

Also see that in the firm; if it is engaged in the business; at least 2 accountants are there. Otherwise the firm  will convert you into an Accountant !

.

It is always better to search a good firm only with the advice of a professional who have interest in your career.

.

With     a l l    good wishes.

.
