Letter not accepted by it office, intimation u/s 245

Hello,
I am a salaried employee and have received an email notice with subject "Intimation U/S 245 of Income Tax Act, 1961" from CPC Bangalore about "Demand raised for outstanding tax" under section 1431a for the AY 2010.

For that year 2010, I had filed the paper returns at local IT office (Pune-Erandwana Praptikar Sadan near Law College Road). It was based on Form-16 and extra income from saving and FD interest.

When I sent the request letter to local IT office where returns were filed requesting them to nullify it or provide details on how extra tax is demanded, the letter was NOT accepted by the IT office.
Speed Post has given a reason that "Section no. is not mentioned in the address and without that number Income Tax office will not accept the letter"

Please let me know which section should I include in the address to reach out to the right Income Tax officer, for nullifying/calrification on this extra tax demand.

Thanks

Hi, If you filed your returns through paper mode then the CPC has no role to send the intimation. Login to IT site and know your jurisdiction and file the letter. No officer refuse to receive the letter. If still you have problem then send a letter to the Chief Commissioner of your jurisdiction
