Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the taxability of leave encashment for retired public sector bank employees. While central and state government employees receive full exemption, PSU bank employees, considered non-government, can claim exemption under Section 10(10AA)(ii). The conversation also touches upon the distinction between public sector and government entities and inquires about any amendments to the exemption limit from Budget 2023.

If you come under central and state govt employee then it is fully exempt.

Else you have to follow Section 10(10AA)(ii) for quantum of Exemption for non govt employees
Sec 10 is an exempted section.

There is a difference between public sector and private sector.
