Can a assessee pay the tax and file Income tax Return for the F.Y. 2012-13 after 31-03-2015.Please provide the procedure for the same.

You can pay tax. But you cannot file ITR.

After Paying Tax online, you can file Return For the F.Y. 2012-13 in paper mode that is physically submit filled return to Assessing Officer.

You can file ITR online for F.Y.2012-13(A.Y.2013-14) if in-response to notice received from Assessing Officer. In such case file return in section 148.it can be selected while filing return online.

Then you will not get 143(1) assessment order fro CPC. you will get a intimation that CPC is not in a position to process your return and return transfered to ur Jurisdictional Assessing Officer. So he will Process return filed under section 148.

So in my opinion if you cant file this return physically then file it by indicating section 148. So CPC will transfer it to your assessing officer.

U/s 119(2)b of It act, you have to request CIT for condoning the delay in filing IT return by giving proper reason for the delay. If it is refundable return, you have to file Form - 30 along the request letter.

How can you obtain a notice under section 148 from Assessing Officer. Is it automatic.
