I am salaried employee. My employer deducted IT from my salary and paid to IT department. It is Rs.12000 more than the IT Isuppose to pay. Hence i have to get the return by efiling.I have not efiled my ITR till now for the year 2013-2014 which I should have filed 31st July2014. My query is if I efile now will I get same refund or any penality will be deducted. Till when I can efile the same?.
Hi,
No penalty for late e-filing.
Only interest will be levied u/s 234A @ 1% per month exceeded thedue date, on the net tax amount after tds.

I agree with anubhav, no penalty.
You can happily file the return now. you will get the amount of refund.....
But in my opinion since you have refund to claim, no int will be charged u/s 234A
