Quick Summary
This discussion addresses a query about the correct period for declaring Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) when there's a significant delay between the time of credit in the books and the actual deduction. The consensus leans towards declaring the TDS in the return for the quarter in which the deduction actually occurred, rather than the quarter of the book entry. It also touches upon potential interest liabilities for late deduction and filing.

Since you credited in books on 5-6-2019, you have to include in TDS first quarter return (April to June)

Under which section TDS has been deducted ??

The delay in TDS deduction and its payment to Government will invite interest / per day penal amount.

The delay in filing quarterely return will also invite per day penal charges
Thx for reply

i filled the return for 1st qtr. now i need to revise it right.

is it be relevant that under which section it is deducted?
As per my view.,

No need...

You can file the tds amount in 3rd quarter return at Jan-20. As You deduct TDS on December. So, No problem...

In case You are deducted TDS on Jun-19 then You will be pay interest...

Now, it's not applicable.
I am liable to pay interest for late deduction.?
