Whether to join or not is a personal question as it is a matter of interest in which you have. If you are interested in Corporate Taxes then it is not worth a good decision as you r doing what you dont like. Dont just go haywire, have a vision and then move on.
It is difficult to take a transfer from one department to another in Big 4. Also note that KPMG - Audit is a good profile also. As a fresher you can be offered a salary bracket of 5.5L to 6.5L depending on your technical knowledge.
I could say you that cost of living in Hyderabad is not costly as that Kolkata as i live in hyderbad. KPMG has its office in a posh locality and if you take up your living you obviously have to shell out a bomb.
BTW, when u r in kolkata they should be some better or equivalent opputunites so try out their itself.
