Naresh Goyal and his wife Anita have quit the Jet Airways board, the company said. Naresh, who founded Jet 25 years ago, will cease to be the carrier’s chairman and his stake will be halved to 25.5%. Jet’s lenders will convert their debt into equity, take a controlling stake for a token sum of ₹1 and infuse ₹1,500 crore into the company. An interim committee is likely to manage the debt-laden airline's operations and the lenders hope to find a buyer by May-end.
