POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES (PGDBFS) 





PROGRAM OBJECTIVE 


The Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Financial Services (PGDBFS) is designed to create industry-ready day-one-hour-one productive professionals. The PGDBFS program equips a person with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude, thus making the person a sought after professional by the banking and financial sector organizations. In short, a modern Banking and Financial Services professional for a modern BFSI sector!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: 



Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Financial Services (PGDBFS) is a three term program which enables the student to broad base his or her career options in the BFSI sector. Besides covering important foundation and core modules in banking and financial services in the first two semesters, it provides an opportunity to specialize in one of these two areas in the third term. This program is unique in both its content as well as its methodology and the contents are distilled from the real-life experience of practicing finance professionals.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND SELECTION PROCESS: 



Graduates in any discipline with 50% marks andless than 26 years of age, are eligible to apply for this program. Candidates in the final year of graduation can also apply. Candidates for the program are selected on the basis of an aptitude test and personal interview.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE: 



The PGDBFS program consists of four hours of class room contact and three hours of supervised self-study per day.Those who are pursuing graduation can opt for two hours of class room contact and two hours of supervised self-study per day. Supervised self-study takes place after the class work. 



In addition to the formal classroom sessions, students may be required to participate incollaborative projects and assignments, e-learning and other reference work. To expedite the program, students may have to work on some local holidays.

APPLICATION PROJECTS 



The learner undertakes an assignment and a project. The participants are divided into groups and allotted a topic relevant to financial planning. The group collects data from various sources, evaluates, creates an executive summary detailing the relevant information in a systematic manner and presents it to the class for knowledge dissemination.

To reinforce their learning and to differentiate real life from the classroom experience, participants complete a project, where they draw up an investment plan for an identified client. They are guided through the project by a team of faculty and industry experts. This project gives them a realistic experience in being a professional financial planner.

PLACEMENT FACILITY: 



All career programs from IFBI are backed by 'Placement Assistance' on successful completion of the program, subject to the academic and placement assistance guidelines. However, select set of candidates who are shortlisted for admission to these programs will be granted admission with 'Placement Assurance' at the time of admission or will be provided an option (subject to the fulfillment of specific academic and non-academic criteria) to upgrade to these programs with 'Placement Assurance'. The students who undergo these programs with 'Placement Assurance' will undergo supervised internship in a partner organization and on successful completion , will be confirmed for employment in that partner organization. Before commencing internship, the partner organization will offer provisional appointment letter with terms and conditions.

EVALUATION AND CERTIFICATION: 



Both the classroom teaching and the internship term of the program are evaluated. Tests, quizzes, assignments, and project-work form the evaluation instruments during the classroom term, while during the internship, the candidates are evaluated based on the performance at work and on their professional attributes. The transcriptt finally received by the student reflects scores obtained in all the courses ( this will include the internship component as well),if applicable. 



To qualify for the award of the Program title, candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% marks each in classroom phase and internship phase(if applicable). Tests during the classroom phase are administered online through the Learning Management System (LMS).
