you can ill itr for p/y 2010-11 and 2011-12 not for the year 2009-10 or previos yeras.

for the year 2010-11 (A/Y 2011-12) you  can fill upto 31st march 2013 and for p/y 2011-12  upto 31st march 2014. its called belated return u/s 139(4)

Only Last Two A.Y. can be filed. So You Can't File Return for the a.y.2009-10

Returns can be filed for all the 3 years

How Tthree years return filed

It can be filed with permission of CIT

Under the provisions of section 119 an application can be filed to allow to file the return of income even after the due date for belated return is expired. There should be some genuine reason for not filing return of income.

Yes application can be made for any assessment year.
