ITR2 - Schedule FA - Initial value of investment

ITR 2250 views 5 replies

Hi,

I have a query regarding schedule FA in ITR2. In (A3), What does field 'initial value of investment' mean ? Is this amount invested or paid to obtain the equity shares ? OR is it the value of investment at the end of the day one of obtaining the assets (in other words value of shares at FMV)?

For example, in case of RSUs, should the initial value of investment be ZERO or the value of investment as per the closing share value at the end of the day of acquisition of shares?

Is the objective of field 'initial value of investment' meant to capture value at FMV so that capital gains in future can be calculated based on this field?

Thank you,

Sri

Thank you Tanuj.

Is it amount paid during the year for which disclosure is made or even Opg value of investment held also to be added

Also it asks for date so which date to be put

What is to be filled up in amount paid or credited during the holding period
