Please tell me if ITR for the AY 10-11 can be filed now if the assessee has to claim refund for the same period?
Please reply at earliest.

Revised return has to be filed within one year from the end of the relevant assessment year.
that means in your case 31/3/2012 is the last date.....hence no option available to get refund....

Dear Balkishan, The last date of filling belated return as per section 139(4) was 31.3.12. So now you cannot file the return for AY10-11.
But there is one possible ray of hope for you. You can expect a notice u/s 142(1)(i) from your A.O asking you to file the return and consequently you may file your return and claim the refunds. All the best.
