You just remove the 91 from the residential phone number cell.

If your mobile no is 982612345

Then erase 91 and in place of 91 enter  first 2 digit of your mobile no like 98 and after that enter the next number

I faced this exact problem this year (AY 2023-24) for ITR-2 & thanks to the 2-years old solution in this thread I was able to work it out. This error is an algorithmic bug because the field that throws the error is not even a mandatory field. Interestingly, I filled the same form last year but this field did not throw an error for me then. Anyway, thank you all for the solution.

You can try 12345678 (Use as many digits as required)

We can save it by simply removing 91 from 'Residential/Office Phone Number with STD/ISD code' field.
