Yes, because the location to save the file is auto-set in temp folders, so not seen......

Better 'submit' directly from the utility, after 'preview'......

Hello,

I'm having the same problem.

I'm using the ITR3 Utility for FY2017-18 released on 07-07-2018 (the PR2 version). It does not generate an XML, and I'm not able to submit directly online either. It saves a draft - thats all.

Clicking the SAVE button does nothing. It also does not seem to be showing errors. I searched the computer for "*.X M L" files ot see if it was saving something , but no fiels turned up that could have been saved by the utility.

I tried the May 2018 utility also, and that doesn;t work either.

Please help. How can I get the X M L file to upload? (I've had not ptoblem doing this any of the last 3 years with the Java Utility)

Have you validated it before submission?

Any error massage?

Check Java on your system, that may require updation .....

Thank you for the quick response!

I've clicked View --> Show Validation in the menu, and teh validation window on the right shows 0 errors

I was shown absolutely no errors at all, even though I actually missed selecting two starred (required) options in the "Part A General" Section. I saw those mistakes myself and corrected them.

"Save" and "Submit" buttons give absolutely no response from this ITR3 PR2 Java Utility

I had downloaded and installed the latest version from the Oracle website before installing the ITR3 Utility.

Before reporting the issue to helpline.........

I would like you to make a try ......

Open the saved draft in Excel utility...... validate each page..... remove error, if any...

Save draft again, reopen that in Java utility & submit...........

Dear Vinod & Anoop,

I was grappling with the same issue since yesterday & finally got a solution.

Save the draft in the desired folder & then open the same draft. After that when you press the save button, it works & the XML file is generated. It was a relief!

Thank you so much. There is other sulution i used. uninstall java and reinstall it again. Both the way it got resolved.

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. Good to know you got it working, Vinod! I'll try both solutions in a bit and post results.

EDIT: Reposting back on results. It worked!!! I had made one huge mistake: I was using a new machine, and I had installed the latest version of Java (JRE10) on it. I unistalled it, and installed the previous Java version (JRE8 with all updates). After this, the ITR3 worked as it is supposed to. I was able to save the final XML file. Thanks for all the suggestions again!

What App did you use to open the draft?

I had Java 10 in my system It did not generate XML and also submit did not work.

uninstalled java 10 and installed java 8. Both save and submit worked fine

Hi All,

Today I had same problem. The Java utility was showing zero error and save X M L button or submit button was also not working. Hence I cheked my JAVA version which was 10. Then I uninstalled it and installed an older version of 8. Then I reopened the draft in newly installed JAVA version 8. and believe me , it worked. I just now have filed my return in ITR 3. Best of luck to others.
