When to Use ITR-3 Form?
You can choose ITR-3 Form only if you have:
- Futures & Options (F&O) or intraday trading income as these are treated as business income.
- Along with incomes such as salary, dividend, bank interest, STCG, or LTCG (if any) in the same return.
Before filing ITR-3,
- You must maintain proper books of accounts, especially if you want to carry forward trading losses.
- Report F&O and Intraday as business income.
- Report STCG and LTCG separately under capital gains.
- Claim eligible trading expenses like brokerage and other allowable business expenses.
- If you want to carry forward trading losses, file your return within 31st August 2026.
- Verify all income, TDS, and capital gains with AIS and Form 26AS before submitting the return.
- Complete e-verification after filing to successfully complete the ITR process.
