Itr-2 2018-19

Ram sir, if you are talking about the "empty pre-filled XML" issue, that has been resolved for me. I also verified that the pre-filled XML is getting uploaded properly and data is filled in the Java utility. Also, I have the latest Java (8u172) on my machine, so downgrading Java is also out of question. In fact, the downloads page on the Govt. ITR website says that user should use latest version of Java. If the issue is anything other than this, please elaborate. Also, the grievances cell is very active and were constantly in touch with me. You can raise a ticket by calling them in case the issue is specific to yourself. 

I am getting the same error Sir. 0 bytes is the size of Prefilled Xml. Kindly guide. Java has been downgraded to java 8 update 51. Still not able to prefill ITR2

Varun sir, please call the grievance number on the IT return website. This could be an issue specific to you! Also, if you can't wait, continue filing all the data freshly.

Gaurav Sir, Thanks for the reply. I will try tomorrow. Looks like it is invidual issue for me. I have already raised the grivence and waiting for resolution. Something similar to this I faced about 6 years back and they resolved for me. So let me wait for their response and update.. Thanks once again. 

I did a small experiment. It worked well. Took last year filed XML. Just changed the assessment year from 2017 to 2018. Saved it as test.X M L. Using the Java Utility just prefilled from the test.X M L. Fantasitc everything got filled. It is better than importing the prefilled X M L from website. Just I have to populate this year data. The beauty is even the CFL for the last 5 years got filled. I have to get Form 16A from SBI which is expected this week. Once I get it I have save the XML and upload. Meantime I am waiting for the reply from IT guys also which I will update. So for prefill issue we can use the last year X M L by changing the assessment year to this year.

Sir it says invalid X M L if we use last year prefill X M L in ITR 2 form for 2018-19. Kindly advise how to prefill from last year X M L

I used last year uploaded X M L (filed one, not prefil). right click and select edit. it will open the X M L in the editor (notepad or word). In that go to the 13th or 14th line which has assessment year (<ITRForm:AssessmentYear>2017</ITRForm:AssessmentYear>). Instead of 2017 Change to 2018. Save as test.X M L so that you will not loose the original. From Java Utility prefil select test,X M L. This is what I did. It worked for me.

Make sure you are using latesting version of Java 8.0000. 

If you use higher version like Java 10.000, the ITR Java utility will not work for save and submit buttons.
