Itr-2 2018-19

I think you are aware of some change in import of pre-fill data, this year......

We are not finding any difficulty........... which is as follows:

1. Log in to efiling site........

2.  Click : Download Prefilled XML file under My Account Tab.

3. Select 'Assessment Year' & than  'ITR2'........ Continue.......

4. Select the required field....... & 'Download XML'........

5. Open the downloaded file in the utility for ITR 2...... under 'open' & save it after any changes....

ITR utilities are ok. Problem is , when I down load prefill Xml, for A.Y.2018/19. It gives error- msg." The X M L file does not have any style matter associated with it. in folder it shows 0 bytes.  Earlier, I never faced this problem.Also, I could genrate prefil data for My wifes retutn in ITR1.f,or trial purpose.( though ITR  1 I, for her I filled dirctly on line). My Last years Xml data can  also be viewd,in vie ITR/ Acknowledgemnt/ Xml etc. Is something has gone wrong with my Xml data only.? I have raised this grivence on It.site also. Can u Pl. guide

Helpline is not able to sort out such problems !!!

Just remove cookies and update java on the system. Re-download the X M L file and open again.

I am also facing the same problem as that of Mr. Satish Naik while preparing ITR2. Tried all the options including old & new versions of Java. Every time the error message is "Invalid ITR or Assessment Year". The funny thing is that the downloaded pre-filled X M L file is of 0 byte size always. Is it really possible? Hope somebody should look into this and sort out the problem.

To my grivence on "not able to import prefill data on ITR 2 -A.Y 2018/19-- Itax  grivence cell has replied that, there is  some soft ware problem on ITR2 - Prefill down load..It can take some time to resolve this issue. Hence, advised me to fill the Offline utility form without importing the prefill data.It is bit inconvinient as everythhing eg ,personal inf./Bank details/ propert data etc. is to be filled again, which otherwise is readily avl.

ITax dept. back up  tech. cell has resolved the prefill Xml , import proble. Now only thing remaining is , error in validating TDS 2 Sch. the error msg. is " unclaimed TDS( col. 5), and TDS of current fin. (  col. 6) year should be in seperate rows.  actualiy some of all the colums , i.e. total TDS is added in col. no .11. This is not understood. Can Anybody guide pl.---

Just remove that '0' amount in the unclaimed TDS amount (col 5) 'just make blank'...... it gets validated....

Hello Sir, As on 01/07/2018, the problem still persists for me. Eventhough they have updated all other ITR utilities as well as Excel Utility for ITR-2, the java utility for ITR-2 is still version PR1 dated  15/05/2018. I am waiting for their reply.  No idea how long they will resolve software issue with dealine nearing.. How can they expect me to downgrade my java for their software error. How can they force us to have excel, when there are more opensource office suites are there. I use Openoffice which doesnot support their Excel Utility. Prefill download working for ITR-1 and ITR-3.
