I'm trying to file an ITR 1 - salaried individual.
Their salary details and chapter VI-A deduction details were not auto updated into the return form from 16. Can I manually enter the details manually and file the return
or
should I wait and check whether details will be auto updated from form 16
please clarify....

You can manually update, no issue in that.
You can manually add the details and file the return.
Please ensure that TDS reflects in form 26As and also reflects in prefilled XML so that the return is processed with matched TDS/TCS credit,

Only Tds, interest on housing loan and 80D may have this issue.. Hope remaining is okay

You have to manually update the figures if same was not auto populated
80(d) medical expenditure incurred for self and others .These are eligible deductions under chapter via.
But as of 80d is may not be autopopulated to ITR.
