I have a doubt regarding item 24 of ITR1.It says"Other information (transactions reported through annual information return)(Please see instruction 9(ii) for code)".I have invested a total of 107000 rupees to buy shares of various companies in FY 08-09.Therefore should i fill this information against code 005? if yes do i need to provide annual information return before august 31?I am a salaried employee.

no you are not required it says if u have invested in one scrip at one time
It is applicable only if you have invested in shares of a single company of more than Rs. 100,000/-. Not applicable in your case and you do not file the AIR as it will be filed by the company in which the investment is made and the due date for filing return is 31st July, 2009.

aditya has rightly explained. applicable only if you have invested in shares of a single company of more than Rs. 100,000. SO you can leave that column blank
