IT -TDS on payment for Purchase of E-books/journals

Is IT-TDS applicable for payments made to supplier of e-books/journals. If applicable, under which section of IT Act?

Can e-books/journals treated the same as books/journals in physical form?

Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) applies to payments for e-books and journals. While online purchases of e-journals are generally considered sales and not subject to TDS, the applicability can depend on the transaction's nature and value. Section 194Q of the Income Tax Act may need to be reviewed for bulk or significant purchases.

NO TDS APPLICABLE ON ONLINE PURCHASE OF E-JOURNAL, SINCE THIS IS A SALE AND PURCHASE TYPE TRANSACTION. TDS PROVISION WILL NOT APPLY ON THE SAME.

How much is the value ?

Need to check 194Q .

If it small amount then no tds is applicable .
If it is bulk & huge then 194Q has to be reviewed
