Can anyone please explain meaning of this line from SM :" Electronically attaching to an authorised telecommunication link that intercepts and alters transmissions. " My question : If it is authorized link , why will it intercept and alter transmissions?

In piggy backing, the hacker follows the steps of the authorized person and electronically attaches to a tele communication link through which he alters & modifies the message to be transmitted.
Thanks. That means the line in SM is grammatically wrong. It should be : Electronically attaching to an authorised telecommunication link through which the hacker intercepts and alters transmissions.
The language in the Mat is correct..it's just that we have to understand it properly.
