Is Tin No. writing is Mendatory in Sales Invoice

Dear Experts,

Pl. tell if I have forgotten to write Tin No. of Buyer in Sales Invoice. What will be the penalty according to Maharshtra Vat and Haryana Vat.

If materials has already reached the buyer....

then (1)you contact the buyer (2),ask for his tin no (3)write the same in your copy (4) also insist him to write the same on the bill send by you.

If Sales Tax Officer checking the invoice in transit then what can he do. What is the Sales Tax Officer power.

If you have written the name and address of the buyer properly and

only tin no has not been written and

when the vehicle is intercepted by officer ..............he will check the geneunies of the buyer ,

if the buyer exists ............then you will be asked to pay a compounding fine of Rs.500 to Rs.1000 depending on the value of the material.

You need not pay any amounts as incentives to officer .

It will be maximum Rs.1000/- only or it can be more then Rs.1000/-. What will be the maximum penalty.

there are two firms one in Tamil Nadu and another in Karnataka under the same management but in different names. The Tamil Nadu firm sells to the Karnataka firm where TIN number is not mentioned in the sale invoice raised by the Tamil nadu firm. How to rectify this and how to raise C form?
