Is this how Articleship is ?

I am afraid day will come where all the CA students are going to take dummy articleship because of these unreasonable restrictions. Without adequate training, they are going to get into industry and practice and spoil the reputation of Institute and other geniune members. Already ICAI has a very bad name after satyam scandal. I hope institute realises it and act early. When students are abused unfairly, they tend to get into unethical practices like satyam scam after they qualify as CA. If they were treated well, they become good ethical professionals. Else they become people like satyam's statutory auditors. None of the financial statements certified by the members (except few) are reliable. You can find lot of balance sheets with no eps disclosed despite the fact that prima-facie they have negative eps. This is going to spoil the Institute’s reputation badly. Hope institute wakes up and take scientific steps in dealing with students issues and also address students grievance. Members extracting work more than the permitted hours, admitting dummy articles, paying little stipend must be stuck off from register of members permanently. Else the concept of equity as envisaged by constitution is not maintained by institute and it is not fit for enjoying the benefits the government provides like tax exemption, funds grant etc.

I completely agree with Mr.Karthikeyan. The New rule is  nothing more than a joke. Is CA INSTITUTE able to stop dummy Articleship. Many CAS DO PROVIDE DUMMY ARTICLESHIP BUT CA INSTITUTE IS TOTALLY BLIND. RULES ARE BEING MADE TO BROKE AND THE ASAME THING WILL HAPPEN IN THIS CASE ALSO.

You all are right my friends....it is good to see everyone is discussing it like this.But now, Somebody has to do something about it.  I have written a letter to the President of ICAI . I really hope that all the students come together at this time of such unfair treatment by the ICAI, Principles and all the people involved in this .

iam looking forward that, if ICAI will ever make any regulation to stop the children of FCA's to take articleship from their parents

as 90% of them are on dummy or enjoy the timings by goin just 2 or 3 hours a day

Ravi,     dummy articleship from FCA parents is never gonna stop, whatsoever rules ICAI implements..................... as it is said rules are always made 2 be broken.................

Instead , they should bring rules like not allowing clients' sons /daughters/ other related parties to do articleship in principal since they have significant influence over the auditor. These people liberally use their client relationship and take advantage of. They never work, thereby their work burden is also brone by other geniune articles.Generally auditors dont dare to show their guts to their clients. It is those innocent and weak article clerks who come to articleship from villages and small towns who are made to face the toughness.

Abosolutely... frndz our Prestigious Institute is governed by mindless and selfish members. their main aim is to provide members with cheap lobour rather then imparting adequate training to young generation..

Banning tranfer is another ruthless step by self-centered members...!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the members are the practicing CA and for them articles are like cheap labour. They don't think from the students angle because their child get the articles from the parent firm and they can manage easily.

Needless to say that our institute is very selfish. Just hiking the education fees but no hike in the monthly stipends. Mostly CAs in practise are abusing their articles as said by Mr. Kartik.
