I agree with Apudi on the matter that articleship period should be reduced to 18 months or 2 years. Because during that period, preparing for the exams with the tuitions is very very tough. And it is one of the causes that students prefer dummy articleship than having practical experience.
And I have seen a number of qualified CAs who don't have practical knowledge though they have completed their articleships.
