Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies that car loan interest is generally not eligible for tax deductions under Section 80C for private employees. Such benefits are typically only available if the car is used for business purposes, allowing for claims on interest expenditure and depreciation. If an employee doesn't receive HRA, they may be eligible for deductions under Section 80GG for rent payments.

For interest on car loan, there is no benefit under sec 80c. Unless you are doing business, you can not claim the interest expenditure nor the depreciation.

If employee is not getting HRA, then he can claim benefit u/s 80GG.
