A person doing civil contracts for irrigation department. He is a small contractor. He gets one or two small contracts in aa year from irrigation department. His turnover is less than 20 lakhs a year. Is there any facility like composition scheme for these small contractors. If he registered under gst, whether he has to file gst returns regularly? Suggest him the right way.
As works contract is 'supply of service' under GST........ composition scheme is not applicable. So, when registered he has to comply all the formalities under regular scheme.
Turnover being less than 20 lakhs, he may evaluate cancellation of GSTIN (check possibility with Irrigation department)
Contract work is only temporary business to him. Sir, what is temporary registration under gst. Is it useful to persons like him.
