It is very difficult for CA's to get direct entry into Investment Banking. Therefore, it is advisable that you either opt for MBA or CFA.

  1. MBA: If you opt for a regular MBA from good B-School, then your chances of entering into Investment Banking are bright. MBA from not so popular B-School or from Correspondence wont help. CA + MBA is a good combination, provided that MBA is from a good B School
  2. CFA: CFA from the US is a very good course for entry into the finance field. Its a rigorous course and can be pursued along with Job. Again, CFA from ICFAI does not hold much value. CA + CFA is an awesome combination

CFA (US) or MBA (Finance) from a good B School would do good for you to become an Investment Banker. In case of MBA(Finance), you can do it after articleship only as you have to do it from a top college. In case of CFA(US), the best time would be after completion of graduation (irrespective of whether you have appeared or going to appear for CA Final). All the Best

CFA (us) or mba..i would prefer cfa(us) taking in account the oppurtunity cost after CA..

Try the course of investment banking from "school of Investment banking" (SIB)

But the cost of the course is too much and it last for 10 weeks only.
You can do it at any point of time provided its been in their schedule.

Google for SIB and u can very well make the enqiury with them.

Apart from SIB followings are the options:
1. Go for PGPSM course.

2. Go for MBF of ICAI

3. Go for MBF from IIF (If u r eligible)

4. Else keep on trying through the websites of Investment banking companies working in India

5. Also there are companies like Infosys, WIPRO, Reliance and Bank of America kind of companies who are doing investment banking activites for themselves. Try to reach out to these companies and get a sense of Investment banking.Thereafter try for some bigger Investment banking firms like Morgan Stanley, ABN AMRO etc etc

Thanks and best wishes..

Even I have a keen interest in Investment Banking :))

Thaks a lot for all...

I gone to this websit https://www.schoolofib.com/index.jsp.

Full time courses are there in Mumbai and Delhi.

Hello
I have completed my chartered accountancy in may 2012 (in first attempt) and wish to take up investment banking as my career. My internship
is from a very reputed firm in New Delhi wherein i handled various internal audits.
I don't have any work experience for investment banking as such.
Shall I pursue any further studies for the same like MBA or CFA? What shall be my exact course of action for the same? Also, shall I start my job with the big 4
CA firms for investment banking.
Please help.
