Every Time I am trying to upload ITR 4S, I get an error "Invalid XML. Generate XML again using latest utility"

I downloaded a new fresh file each time and then filled the same and uploaded, but still I get this error. And this is not the first time I am uploading the return, earlier also, I uploaded the returns the same way, but this time I am not able to upload the return, cannot figure out what is the problem.

Can any one help?

You can file ITR 4S through income tax e-filing portal,first log in then click on quick itr filing then file itr 4s .
No need to download ITR 4S utility & generate X M L. File

Dear Sir,

I am trying to upload ITR-4 this time, but getting the same error as I was getting earlier - "Invalid XML. Generate XML again using latest utility". Can we fill ITR-4 also directly through Income Tax e-filing portal?

No, ITR 4 filing through e-filing portal not available.
You can file through using ITR 4 utility.

But then, everytime I am getting that error. Cannot figure out why this is happening. Unable to upload the return. What can be an alternate solution?

Let me known, whether you use ITR 4 java utility or EXCEL utility.
Plz use EXCEL Utility instead of Java Utility.

I didn't know what exactly happen in your case. So i m sharing with u some useful tools which is helpful for u ( search in youtube who to file ITR 4 filing, use ITR 4 utility instruction, Tax Return Prepare TRP help desk number:-1800 102 3738 or income tax e-filling contact number :-1800 180 1961)

Sir, Thanks for the information. Actually, just figured out - problem was with my excel. I tried doing it in another system, and it worked.

Hello Sir,

I e-filed ITR 4S through Income tax efiling portal. When trying to everify the return, I do not get the option of getting EVC on email address. Neither, Income is greater than 5 Lakh, nor it is a case of refund. Can't figure out why not getting this option. Can you please help?
