invalid return
I have filed a return for A.y 2016-17 the the it department has not accepted the return and the return become invalid due to some information not filled in the itr for the a.y 2016-17 . Now can I file the return under section 139 as original return for the same assessment year.please guide me to handle the situation.

Yes, you can file rectified return for AY 2016-17 u/s. 139(4) even now......
while filing the return I haven't filed the P&L and B/S.The department sent me remainders for the correction of the same but I have failed to do so
Forget the old filed return it is invalidate........
But whatever defects were there, remove them and file belated return as original.......
If required file ITR 4 (AY 2016-17) with P&L acc with BS.
