No action required, your ITR successfully processed & refund send (Just information provided to you)
nothing to do...
don't worry
extra amount TDS interest
Hi Ravisekhar,
No action is required to be taken. It is just an intimation. The difference in refund amounts is the interest on refund. You are now getting extra amount of refund from the IT Dept. You just have to wait for the refund amount to get credited into your bank account, that's it. No need to worry. Be cool.

See that you take this interest as income form other sources in the next year's return.

This year it is down and dusted.

Keep the follwing safely in  HD/pen drive

1) XL/java utility 2) XML file 3) full ITR form in pdf (down load this from efile of your account

4) 143(1) intimation for assessment

Build up a history of IT returns .

I have got all returns , investment copy, intimations and refund orders for all 31 years I filed IT return.

I guess now there is no need to build a history of IT Returns as all data is readily available on the Dept. portal in the account of each entity.

Utility  XL/java file is not here on website. Plus other inputs such as Investment made need to be preserved.  Not only IT but others such as profession tax , service tax, etc

My wife got a letter from ITO  in 2016 for  AY2013-14 regarding 80C investment proof.

I got a letter from  PT to pay fine plus prof tax for 2009 to 2011  payment. immediately replied with soft copy of all 10 year challans   of prof tax.  2015 service tax query came . - that was replied.  One may not know what wlll come . make a box file and keep it - You will be happier man

Till date in history, across the world, only physical form storage has survived. Hence, I keep all physical paper format as ITR proof of all documents in large box files. Each year bunch becomes almost 25-35 A4 pages. No record in digital form is preservable. I had a WD passport to store everything, that HDD died down after 8 years of usage. All backups got lost.

Thank You Sir for sharing your valuable experience. I have a thought of saving paper and trees hence not inclined to save in physical form.
