I know that we have had lots of discussions on interview questions in various forums.
However, I feel that in all Interviews you should try to be yourself, answer what you really feel like answering. The kind of question which you have asked is not like an exam question where there are 4 options and only 1 or 2 are correct.
You should answer what you really want to be 10 years down the line. Try to put it in such a language that it highlights certain qualities like vision, enthusiasm, positive thinking etc. Answer it in such a way that it alo highlights your strenghts.
In audit firm, I would answer that I would want that 10 years down the line I want to be at such a level that people should look at my firm (this refers to the firm interviewing you) as the most reputed one, most ethical one. 10 years down the line, I will lead by such an example that wlll make everyone realise that there are ethical people and practices and by working with them(the firm interviewing) I will to show it to the world how it pays to be true to yourself, to people and your work.
In Industry, it depends which Industry it is. So I wouldnt comment on that.
