Dear Concern, I'm a contractor for interior work like onsite manufacturer of wardrobe, modular kitchen ,paint and other interior works. But not a qualified "Interior Decorator" I'm so confused to file ITR for AY 2018-19.Will it count as profession or business for filling ITR 4 ?? As income under profession is calculated @ 50% of receipt and in Business it is @ 8%. Kindly advice

What is the section underwhich TDS deducted?

No tax has been deducted, As only few contracts has been taken from individuals that's too in cash (except one with NEFT of Rs 38000).

So, if you choose your business code as 'Interior decorators' you will fall under sec. 44ADA...

But because of material and labour involved in your job, you come under business category, hence, with suitable code chosen for sec. 44AD, you can declare 8% or more profit margin.

Thanks a lot for your valuable reply..if possible please assist me for suitable code as well.I am unable to find the suitable one as apart from Interior Decorator I hardly find any work code related to it except the construction of civil work.. Please guide..

Yes, '06010' a good option.........

Thanks a lot sir..You are so prompt and helpful

Most Welcome ..

Thank God for blessing  the opportunity......

WILL COMES UNDER WORKS CONTRACT U/S. 44AD LIBLE FOR 8%

The inclusion of work and labor makes you fall under the “Business Category” and in accordance with the laws of 44AD that have been extended to November 30, 2020. Being the contractors at Wall Curtains, we do provide our services under the label of Business, the final tax deduction still depends on the extent of labor involved in a certain home decor or improvement project.
