Interest on tds

972 views 5 replies

As the I.T. Deptt. is sending notices to all persons who have make default in payment of TDS and the demand raised by deptt. for interest is cumulative of all sections e.g. 194C, J, H.
So my query is that while depositing the same one should calculate interest for each section separately
or
deposit the all interest under one challan.
& if the second option is correct then how to fill the challan 281 (because it asks for the specific section) and to enter them while revising the respective return.

Its better to remit interests in separate challans..

You will have to deposit the interest section wise. After depositing, you will have to revise the return which needs you to put section codes while filing challan details.

It is advised to make interest payments under different Sections in separate Challans.

Thanks to all for ur valuable reply......
